UKRD has received considerable benefit from being a part of the Best Companies process. Each and every year, we take time to assess the results of the comprehensive research provided and then shape our responses to both the comments of the team as well as the scoring we have received, so that future policies reflect the priorities and interests of those upon whom we rely for success; our people. This has been an invaluable exercise each and every year to date.
William Rogers - UKRD GROUP LIMITED
We believe participation in the programme helps us to attract quality staff who are looking for a long, progressive career rather than just a job, as well as attract suppliers who want to work with us and customers who want to buy from us. Our employees feel engaged and inspired by what they do and the Best Companies programme is pivotal in enabling us to celebrate our successes whilst also recognising tangible goals for the future so that we can continue to be one of the UK’s best places to work.

Holiday Extras have entered the Best Companies list a number of times and its been a brilliant tool to see how we measure against some of the big companies out there. We have been working hard on our employee engagement over the past few years, taking on board what the Best Companies results show as well as using our own internal engagement questionnaire and its very much paid off, as we now boast a 92% engagement score!

The Skills Gap Paradox

Discovering your employees' untapped potential

The skills gap is often cited by business leaders, politicians and HR professionals as a fundamental barrier to economic growth and innovation.

But instead looking immediately towards recruitment, should we be looking to our existing employees to increase productivity? Is there untapped potential in our people that we can release to bridge the skills gap?

The answer is a resounding yes.

What you'll learn:

  • The extent to which UK employees feel they have hidden talents their organisation isn't taking advantage of
  • The correlation between unused skills and overall engagement
  • What the top performing organisations are doing to support employees' personal development
  • The 4 key behaviours of top performing managers
