Ground Control started small, maintaining the grounds for Tesco stores, and still mows lawns and picks up litter. But it has expanded into landscaping, fencing and arboriculture, and even instals charge points for electric vehicles. Serving a wide range of customers including the NHS, housing associations and local councils is a loyal workforce: the Essex firm's annual employee retention rate is 90%.

Growth and technological development have brought long-term employment and the chance for staff to progress their careers. It runs a mentoring scheme linked to the management development programme that helps people broaden their skills. Ground Control also emphasises an inclusive culture that supports and celebrates the diversity of those who work for it.

Perks include car lease and cycle-to-work schemes, travel loans and shopping discounts, and bonuses are paid twice annually. Outside work there are team away days, five-a-side football, virtual yoga, summer barbecues and winter parties.

As a large business whose key activities takes place in the natural world, it is aware of its environmental impact and has achieved carbon neutral certification with the active support of employees. It is involved in tree planting projects around the country and uses battery-operated tools.

One of its key commitments was the decision to dedicate 5% of net profits to the Evergreen Fund. This will provide seed and growth capital to companies and social enterprises that are focused on delivering measurable, beneficial and sustainable environmental impact.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
