At Bindmans each employee has an annual appraisal in line with competency frameworks. Any training or support is highlighted during the appraisal. Fee earners have CPD requirements which are regulated. Management and Leadership training is provided to new partners and those who are new to management. Each year the firm has an initiative such as managing stress, appraisal training etc. The company are currently considering mindfulness training, partnering with their local council. Senior Partners have trialled 360 reviews which will be rolled out across the partnership and senior management. Paid and unpaid study leave is available for work and non-work related qualifications.

Bindmans has a donations budget which is used for requests for a variety of organisations - local community groups, not for profit groups, to support law centres/groups through the London Legal Walk. The firm may not match funds but will contribute. Each year they participate in the London Legal Walk that raises money for law centres and or not for profit legal organisations. Bindmans have colleagues that are board members for local law centres. Some of their work is pro-bono with cases from not for profit organisations/charities.

At Bindmans, the business plan has recently been updated for the next 3 years and presented to all their colleagues. There is also a competition for colleagues to describe 'Bindmans in a nutshell', there is a prize for the best catchy phrase that can be used to describe and market the firm.Also, a welcome pack is sent in advance of a new employee’s start date that has details of facilities around the firm’s location (lunch time venues, dry cleaners etc.), key policies and an introduction to the firm with the induction schedule. New starters have a full day of induction with follow up sessions. There is an organisation chart with photos. New starters are also introduced around the firm.
