About AAT

AAT was created by the merger of two founding institutes in 1980: the Institute of Accounting Staff (then a subsidiary of ACCA) and the Association of Technicians in Finance and Accounting (then a subsidiary of CIPFA). It is a technician level qualification offering higher apprenticeships which entitle those who have completed the exams and obtained relevant supervised work experience, to become an accounting technician.

AAT work across the globe with over 100,000 members in more than 100 countries. To reward employees for their dedication and efforts, AAT offer discounted vouchers for cinema tickets, gym membership and classes, with discounts also available on restaurants and travel insurance.

They are training mental health first aiders, so they will have people around the organisation who colleagues can go to for support. AAT also ran a managing mental health workshop for managers, to enable them to effectively and appropriate manage their team's mental health.

The wellbeing programme has its own budget and is reviewed and renewed annually. They run free yoga twice per month and they heavily subsidise yoga for the other two weeks in the month. They also open two financial workshops a year (one after Christmas), two nutrition workshops a year, onsite health checks and flu jabs.
