Trafford Council are responsible for a large range of vital services for people and business in the metropolitan borough of Trafford, including: social care; schools; housing; planning; waste collection; licensing; and business support.

The Council have routes for colleagues to be supported to attain professional qualifications throughout their UPSKILL and professional qualification programme. Qualifications range from mindfulness, post graduate certificates in family group conferences to formal management qualifications.

The CEO has a regular monthly blog to communicate with staff, as well as corporate updates and a newsletter via email. They also head up any large staff events, like their 'let's talk' engagement sessions and annual employee recognition awards.

Trafford Coucil have a wide variety of learning and development solutions to support leadership and personal development of colleagues. They are also currently developing a standard corporate leadership and management development programme that will be launched shortly and will support the development of system leadership skills and behaviours and the embedding of their new corporate values and behaviours.
Trafford Council and CCG have partnered together with the provision of a mental health first aid network. These are trained volunteers from the workforce who are a point of contact if colleagues, or someone they are concerned about, are experiencing a mental health issue or emotional distress. The network of 19 mental health first aiders are based in a variety of teams and locations and are promoted through intranet pages, posters and flyers and as part of any initiatives and promotional campaigns.
