1E was founded over two decades ago by Sumir Karayi. Highly technical and with many years of experience in blue chip organisations, Sumir saw a need to reduce the cost of managing Windows PCs and servers.
Driven by word of mouth validation from their customers, 1E gained a reputation as a leading Microsoft systems management specialist, supporting their customers in robust content distribution, software asset management and user self-service.
To ease any workplace stress, 1E encourages employees to take regular breaks during working hours and ensures employees use their annual leave. 1E also provides access to mental health professionals via an employee assistance programme. They have a large kitchen which includes a large communal space where employees can meet informally to relax, play video games, share meals and exchange ideas or just chill.
The CEO at 1E has an open door policy and encourages all employees to come and talk to them about anything. They run an all-company update call each month and encourages employees to send in questions for them to answer during the call.
The organisation has implemented a 'Most Valuable Player (MVP)' award to encourage peer-to-peer recognition within the workplace. Any employee can nominate any other employee for this reward and there are no limitations on how often employees nominate or are nominated. These 'MVP' awards are tied to company objectives and recipients and their accomplishments are communicated throughout the business.
