National Friendly are a mutual society and their aim is to help their members meet their health, welfare and protection needs.
The society was founded in 1868 by Rev. Canon Portal at Albury rectory, to provide a deposit system allowing members to co-fund medical assistance.
Even after all of these years, their values are still held dear. They believe in helping people to help themselves. All of their products, services and benefits ensure their members are prepared for life’s uncertainties.
They have a strong social and community support ethic that includes a working party that looks after environmental issues and local community support. Their staff nominate a 'charity of the year' which is predominantly a local charity formed on health and welfare needs and raise funds towards it. Funds raised are matched by the Society.
