My health is suffering because of my work
Legal and General Health and Wellbeing programme lies at the heart of the Group’s people strategy. In June they signed up to be a partner to the Governments Public Health Responsibility Deal, demonstrating their public commitment to the health and wellbeing of our employees. In May they signed the Time to Change pledge run by Rethink Mental Illness and Mind to help promote a better understanding of mental health problems while offering support and welfare advice for employees. In 2013 they launched a new visual identity for their Health and wellbeing programme called My Money, My Life, My Health. This provides a hub for employees to easily source information about the health benefits available and information on healthy eating, exercise as well as employee stories, news and features. They are participating in the BITC Workwell Public Reporting Benchmarking programme to gain insight and feedback on strengths and gaps. A wide range of health benefits and services include; Death in service benefits, Group income protection services, BUPA, BUPA (Dental), Eye tests and glasses, Health and safety assessments, Fitness Express health club at Kingswood, Discounts on gym memberships at other locations, Cycle to work scheme and discounts with Snow and Rock on running and cycling, Childcare vouchers, Volunteering, mentoring and community support , Legal and General Choir, Occupational Health/EAP, Resilience training/CBT ‘Beat the blues’, Wellbeing days at site locations and Sickness and absence management.
