About RH Amar

RH Amar is a food importer and distributor providing imported and UK grocery brands with an effective sales, marketing and distribution solution, servicing customers in all food channels across the UK.

The High Wycombe business is a family-owned company passionate about everything they do. The company proudly takes its name from founding father, food-and-drink pioneer Raoul Amar, who set up the business in 1945.

Today, under Chairman Henry Amar and Managing Director Rob Amar, they have 68 employees and around 1,200 products across 40 brands.

The firm is a full-service importer and distributor, offering skills and expertise in sales, marketing, brand management, category management, logistics, food technology, IT support, and much more.

They represent some of the UK's most popular brands, including Starbucks, Del Monte, Schwartz, Kikkoman, Nando’s, Mutti, Crespo, Kuhne, as well as it is own Cooks&Co, Mary Berry’s and The Original Waffle Company brands.

Installing LED lighting in their office and warehouse has helped RH Amar to greatly reduce their energy consumption, generating a return on investment within 12 to 18 months. They also encourage colleagues to go green wherever possible, and give 10% of all their profits to charity.
During team meetings and one-to-ones, staff are encouraged to share their thoughts and feelings to make sure they are coping well. The company also regularly reviews its health and safety policies and encourages healthy eating, as well as recently banning smoking on their premises.

RH Amar use Skype for Business to connect with home-based workers and hold a monthly company lunch to encourage workers to interact with people they might not normally talk to much. Christmas lunch, meanwhile, is hosted and cooked by the directors themselves.
