ACT deliver a wide range of training to over 6,500 people a year including: apprenticeships, traineeships, 14-16 schools provision, commercial training and managed training services provision.
Founded in the late 1980's, the organisation's primary purpose is to make a positive difference to people's lives by providing excellent learning programmes.
ACT is continuously looking for new ways to recognise and reward their employees. They undertook a major review of staff salaries and benefits during the summer of 2017, which resulted in annual increases to salaries for all staff via a formal salary structure with annual incremental increases. The package also included a health care and death in service plan for all staff, improved work-life balance and increased employer pension contributions.
ACT are committed to enhancing and supporting the wellbeing of all its employees through a number of initiatives. They have an in-house counsellor who supports employees with issues that may be affecting their work and wellbeing. They promote a culture of coaching across ACT, where managers throughout the organisation are trained in coaching techniques enabling them to better support their employees and improve their wellbeing. They also introduced a wellbeing hub, a multi purpose space that houses the ACT wellbeing team and pod spaces for employees to work quietly alone or one to one with their learners.
