“We are thrilled with the 3 star accreditation from Best Companies, especially because it’s an organisation that truly celebrates and recognises the incredible impact that culture has on the health—and success—of a company. Culture has been a cornerstone for Auth0 since day one and we have invested a great deal of time and resources into ensuring that it flourishes regardless of how large we grow. Whether there are 800 employees or 8,000, we are committed to cultivating an environment that provides every employee with a sense of belonging and a recognition that we are in this journey together. One Team, One Score.” - Carolyn Moore, SVP, People
Throughout the pandemic, Auth0 introduced a few new ways to support their managers. They have started scheduling skip-level manager meetings, to ensure managers are being heard at various levels. Given the unique nature of this year, they have also equipped their managers with advice and resources on how to go about measuring performance during a pandemic. Lastly, they have put several of their newer managers through what they call their‘ Manager Impact Program’. This a 3-month session where managers join a cohort of their peers, tackling issues and challenges many managers face. This program has been especially rewarding throughout the pandemic, since managers were able to work through challenges together that have arisen as a result.
Auth0 know that the pandemic has put a strain on many people’s mental health, so they put in place a number of resources that help with maintaining or improving mental health and overall wellbeing. This year they launched ‘Whil’, a digital wellbeing app, to all their employees worldwide. This app helps employees reduce stress, increase resilience, and improve their focus, sleep, and performance. To increase adoption and help employees understand what Whil has to offer, they offer monthly challenges to all employees that centre around the app. They also ran step challenges as well as virtual yoga weekly classes, in both English and Spanish. Prior to the pandemic, they had established a ‘Mental Wellbeing Club’; a private channel where people can just talk about how they are feeling, ask for advice, tell stories, and just be a part of a community focused on mental health. Since the pandemic hit, they have been encouraging employees to join the club if they would like another layer of support.
Since March, Auth0 have kicked off a number of initiatives to support their employees, but a few stand out as the most well received and celebrated. One of these was their Zoom magic show, where employees and their families were able to watch and interact with a guest magician. This was a great way to bring the company together regionally for some fun. They also ran two company-wide learning summits where employees could learn something new, earn Auth0 swag, and participate in challenges for cooking, DIY, mindfulness, and fitness. Both have received tremendous praise, offering employees opportunities to engage with each other in ways they had not before. Ensuring all employees have access to resources that make their daily work easier and more comfortable was also a big priority for Auth0.
