Supported charities are always local and connected by their nature to their business; cancer therapy normally two charities are supported and changed annually. They have an employee with specific responsibility for environment on Health Safety & Environment Committee which meets monthly. Biocompatible have carried out a 'carbon footprint' reviews and monitor energy usage and carbon emissions. The total energy usage has decreased by 5% in the past year. The company recycle paper, card, cans, plastics, batteries, toner cartridges and mobile handsets. They operate in a socially and environmentally responsible manner in compliance with regulations, and continuously review products in order to develop innovative and effective waste minimisation strategies. They were shortlisted as a finalist for the Surrey County Council Business Waste Minimisation Award in 2009.
