Boss Professional Services was founded in 2013 to recruit for professionals working in the energy sector, mainly throughout Asia and the middle east.
Since then, the company has grown rapidly, adding additional teams that recruit for ERP professionals, medical and smart technologies.
While the office is a professional and hardworking place, the team enjoy getting together out of working hours, and hosting team events such as go karting and white-water rafting.
Every recruiter is given a target for the year that they should try and achieve, and, if they hit their yearly target, they are treated to winter and summer incentives. In the past this has included rewarding colleagues with skiing activities, as well as including trips to Miami, Croatia, and Malta.
Boss Professional Services realised that it wasn’t just team members that needed support and advice when the pandemic hit, but management too. As a result, the same changes to policy, targets and holiday flexibility were made to all roles in the organisation. Daily meetings were held so that employees had video access to management, with calls followed upon a one-to-one basis by individual managers to their staff members. All managers worked with business partners to adapt plans, ensuring targets were realistic and reflective of the unprecedented circumstances presented by the pandemic.
Mental health and wellbeing have always been important to Boss Professional Services. Over the course of the pandemic, they adapted their wellbeing model to ensure that both team members and managers had access to support and assistance. This included applying more flexibility around targets and giving access to an external trainer to talk about challenges facing employees. The company started a virtual run club to help maintain social interaction and improve wellbeing, as well as a recipe sharing initiative.
The company tried to not overcomplicate and change how the environment was structured during the pandemic. It was important to them that their company values remained the same, but that team members felt that they had additional support as and when they needed it. To ensure success and team building even when working remotely, Boss Professional Services’ staff participated in initiatives including Friday afternoon drinks and social calls, a virtual lunch club, and fitness events and competitions.
