My Manager
This year Cushman and Wakefield have made a major step forward in performance management by introducing the Equity Partner Maximising Your Contribution programme. Their EMEA and UK CEOs sit down for a 1:1 session with each of their Equity Partners to discuss their performance and help them focus on key issues, including leading their people well. This helps them to understand their strengths and development areas across a broad range of skills, from leadership to building relationships, entrepreneurial skills and strategic development.

This year Cushman have implemented a new talent programme as an integrated part of their performance strategy. Their philosophy is that all of their people are talented, and they therefore need to know where they are in their career in order to manage them effectively and be an employer of choice. Their manager provides them with a Talent Rating annually, reflecting the individual's desire and potential to progress to the next level in the Firm. Each individual is therefore placed in a Talent Group, where their Director of Learning & Development can then develop learning events, coaching and communication campaigns targeted specifically at each Group.

C&W has traditionally placed a significant emphasis on creating an environment that is fun to work in. Events this year which have contributed towards this include; All UK staff summer drinks party held at The Kensington Roof Gardens in September; Sponsored Pilates lessons are run in the Portman Square office on a regular basis, and are always over-subscribed; Team Away Days eg. Punting in Cambridge, School Race Day and Pub Quiz, Inter-Team softball match followed by drinks and pizza and a LondonTreasure Hunt followed by a drinks reception and dinner.
