About Cyber-Duck

Cyber-Duck is a leading digital transformation agency that works with global brands such as the Bank of England, Cancer Research and Compare the Market.

Established in the UK, their global workforce of ‘Ducks’ gives them unlimited breadth and scale so they can meet client needs, however challenging. They work as an integrated extension of their client’s teams – whether that’s in-person or remotely, in the current climate. Their ISO certified UX, Web and Mobile Development methodology produces future-friendly strategies that can align stakeholders and engage users.

The Ducks have spoken as industry experts on BBC Watchdog and The Gadget Show alongside notable conferences like SXSWi, UKTI and UX London. Their agency is part of Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 (EMEA) and has won sought after awards including Webby, UXUK and The Drum's DADI Awards.

Cyber-Duck's services include: Research and strategy – immersing themselves in an organisation and revealing the way forward through data science and design thinking; User experience and design service – where they listen, test, design and repeat to generate intuitive services, platforms and processes; Technology implementation – where they deliver and support mission critical applications using industry-leading platforms and frameworks; and also Digital optimisation – where they use data science and insight to drive rich, rewarding customer interactions via Google Certified SEO, PPC and content marketing campaigns.

“Our diverse and global team at Cyber-Duck is thrilled to be accredited as a Best Company. Our digital transformation agency has grown organically from one person in 2005, to 70 today. Founded in the UK, we are now an international business and everyone works remotely due to the pandemic. It is vital that our remote team can feed back on their wellbeing, wants and needs. As an ISO-certified digital agency, the team's wellbeing is paramount and the latest survey data will help us to continue to improve. We selected the Best Companies Accreditation programme due to their unparalleled reputation as the pioneer of team engagement surveys” - Danny Bluestone, CEO

What is it like to work for Cyber-Duck

Leadership
Leadership

Cyber-Duck holds a weekly remote meeting where their CEO, Danny, engages staff with critical information about the agency’s pandemic response. This hour-long session reassures staff and involves them with promoting the agency’s stability. Staff are encouraged to raise pressure points; continual improvement ideas; and perform project ‘Show and Tells’.

Danny is realistic and transparent with staff about current revenue, pipeline, lead generation and the potential effects of the pandemic. This profoundly engages staff, as they realise how their work has a direct effect on the growth of the agency.

My Manager
My Manager

At Cyber-Duck, internal support for managers is consolidated with impartial, external support. Their CEO appointed Craig Hamer from The Performance Culture to help managers improve their performance with measurable outcomes; he specialises in Responding to Change, Executive Development and Mental Toughness.

The Mental Toughness work that is completed by The Performance Culture and Cyber-Duck in partnership is particularly innovative. Managers are invited to complete a Mental Toughness Questionnaire, which analyses the current state of their resilience and personal growth mindset. Through one-to-one coaching with Craig, staff can improve their resilience and responses, which in turn improves Cyber-Ducks’ qualities. It combines Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Sports Psychology, which is perfect for a fast-moving agency with high performing teams.

Wellbeing
Wellbeing

Throughout the pandemic, Cyber-Duck have ensured the mental and physical wellbeing of their employees is paramount. In order to achieve this, they have implemented a number of measures including games nights, virtual pubs, quizzes, regular meetups on Zoom and flexible working arrangements. Sessions with a qualified Psychologist on wellbeing over Zoom were also available for everyone, and employees were encouraged to take annual leave days to rest. In the height of lockdown, they also offered free weekly yoga.
