Grainger run regular ‘Lunch and Learn’ events that are attended by staff from all thier offices and topics include 'Where the Economy Stands', 'the Private Rented Sector' and a topic focusing on a large-scale development project. Their internal staff have also run training sessions on topics such as 'Introduction to Finance' and 'Financial Modelling'. Whilst this is cost-effective, it is also a great example of living their values by openly sharing knowledge and collaborating with colleagues.

Grainger takes part in Give and Gain Day which is a national volunteering day. All five of their UK offices took part and activities ranged from painting and litter picking, to gardening and helping children sow seeds at a local primary school. Other fund raising activities include zip-slides, cake bakes, Tough Mudders, cricket matches, night marathons, coffee mornings, abseils, mince pie baking, hat wearing, Great North Run, and wearing pink.

Grainger have found great value in their executive staff breakfasts. Graingers executive management team host breakfast meetings with a small group of staff, often made up of those that don’t have regular contact with the executives through their day to day work. These informal meetings give staff the opportunity to hear business news from the executives, but is also their chance to feedback, make suggestions and explain what is happening in their area of the business. The executive management team find these very useful, and often implement suggestions that are made during these meetings. Staff enjoy them as well, as it enables them to build a rapport with the executives, and feel like their ideas and contributions are really taken on board. They endeavour to make all of their senior managers accessible to all staff, and this just helps to facilitate this.
