Hull University Union are a students union that promote the interests and welfare of students at the University of Hull during their course of study. They provide students with social, cultural, sporting and recreational activities and forums for discussions and debate.
The union has a primary purpose 'To enhance the lives of every person studying at the University of Hull. By bringing you together, offering you opportunities to develop, representing & empowering you to make change'.
In total, Hull University Union have a set of seven core principles to which all employees' that work alongside them are asked to follow, in order to reach their purpose. Their core principles are: Student Led, Equality, Innovative, Learning, Team Spirit, Be Outstanding, and finally, Openness.
Hull University Union are part of the 'Mindful Employer Charter'. This provides each member of staff with a 24/7 365 days a year telephone helpline service. The helpline provides support to staff on any issue that life may throw at them. In addition, the service also provides support to managers to help them deal with problems/challenges such as conflict, work-related stress, or even team/behavioural issues.
