About JTP

JTP is an award-winning international placemaking practice of architects and masterplanners with extensive experience of delivering successful projects for both private and public sectors throughout the UK, Europe, China, Russia and the Middle East.

JTP recognises that its success is due to the effort and creative ability of the talented people working at the organisation. They place great importance on making their studios stimulating and enjoyable places to work and instigate a range of initiatives to encourage social interaction, innovation and learning.

Some of these initiatives include: weekly design reviews to enhance and positively influence design at an early stage; A fortnightly professional training group which brings architectural staff together to learn and discuss best practice, ensuring an exceptional learning experience for their students; and also annual office study trips with recent destinations including Lyon, London Dock & Wapping, Berlin, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Lisbon.

JTP have a series of unique and innovative benefits which make up their 'Wellbeing Toolkit'. One of the most innovative benefits is their 'Housing Support Loan'. In response to the challenges faced by their younger staff, JTP set up a pioneering interest-free housing support loan to assist employees in securing homes to buy or rent, to date helping up to 25% of their staff get a foot on the property ladder.

What is it like to work for JTP

Each year the senior management team create a Business Plan for the year setting out the ambitions of the Practice. The plan opens with an outline of JTP's ethos and their 17 core principles. The senior team review and approve these values and commit to embedding them in how they work. 
JTP encourages sport and fitness of its employees. They have a large secure bike store, showers, laundered towels and lockers to encourage staff to cycle or run to work. As a practice they also support and initiate sponsored sport events such as marathons or cycle rides. They offer in-house yoga classes and support the JTP football teams.

Each December JTP set up a hamper in both the London and Edinburgh studios and encourage employees to donate food which they then deliver to a local Food Bank. This initiative is hugely successful and JTP make numerous hampers and trips to the Food Bank in order to distribute to those in need.
