M&DH Insurance Services provide clients with insurance for the construction and manufacturing industry. The company was set up nearly 18 years ago by the current managing director after leaving their previous job as a broker. The start-up organisation then grew to employ a handful of employees in a small office.
Now, M&DH Insurance Services have grown to hold over 3,000 clients with over 5,000 insurance policies. M&DH live by the saying 'Work Hard, Play Hard'. Having fun at work has always been at the forefront of the MD's ethos, having foosball tables, ping pong and play stations available for staff on their breaks. Benefits vary for everyone, as they try and reward people in different ways to keep it exciting, some receive company cars, some receive petrol cards, some receive gym memberships and concert / sports tickets.
To enable employees to always have the opportunity to give their opinions, the organisation supply suggestion boxes, which is an anonymous way for anyone to voice any ideas they have. They also have weekly and monthly team meetings, and monthly management meetings for everyone to discuss new ways of working, any improvements and any new concepts for the future.
Employees have access to private medical insurance, critical illness cover, death in service, enhanced pension schemes and flexible working hours.

The Managing Director constantly reminded staff to use their one exercise a day during lock down. Mental Health First Aiders regularly checked in with all members of staff especially those they considered to be most at risk. M&DH ensured they brought back the most vulnerable people into the office first making sure they felt secure and at ease.
A rota has been introduced so colleagues can be introduced gradually back to a working environment. M&DH Insurance Services have ‘keep in touch’ days where team members can come in for a couple of hours to spend some time in the office and ensure they feel comfortable with the environment.
