About PDSA

PDSA provide free or low cost veterinary treatment at nearly 50 pet hospitals across the UK. They also have a network of more than 120 charity retail shops in high streets up and down the country.

PDSA know that pets enrich our lives and are good for our wellbeing. So no-one should be denied the benefits of their companionship, and certainly no pet should suffer, due to financial difficulty. Often it's the people most in need who need a pet the most.

These are the core beliefs on which PDSA was founded more than 100 years ago. They're what drove their founder in her mission as a social reformer and animal welfare pioneer. And they're what drive them today as the UK's leading veterinary charity.

PDSA are there to provide compassionate vet care for those who can't otherwise afford it. Without them, people struggling financially wouldn't be able to afford to care for their sick or injured animals, leading to unnecessary suffering for themselves and their pets.

The charity have a number of benefits designed to improve the wellbeing of their own people, and mental health is an area in which they are focusing a lot of their attention. PDSA promote regular 'mytimes' which are 1-2-1 catch ups with line managers. They also have an employee assistance programme which has both techniques and links to other useful information to manage stress and develop resilience.
