Ryder was established in Newcastle in 1953, and now has a team of over 200 passionate people across the UK, Hong Kong, Vancouver and Amsterdam. They deliver pioneering architectural services across a diverse portfolio of sectors, collaborating globally with Ryder Alliance partners.
Their goal is simple - to improve the quality of the world around them and, in doing so, improve people's lives. This is an approach embedded in the origins of Ryder which remains a touchstone today. Everything architecture is based on principles of simplicity, usefulness and elegance. It connects people to places, from the room to the city.
Ryder relies on leadership to transcend the professional silos. It requires talented people with a passion for collaborative project working to deliver the best return on investment for clients. Everything they do is driven by their values: passionate; pioneering; and collaborative.
The essence of the Ryder culture is to strive for excellence. They celebrate great achievements
through rewards and praise. The 'everything architecture awards' recognise and celebrate project and service achievements throughout the year. Individual categories include project of the year, special achievement and leading the way.
The winners of the awards are voted for by everyone at Ryder and anyone can be nominated. In previous years, only the leadership team supplied the nominations. However, in 2019 this was opened to the wider business to give their people an equal opportunity to have their say and reward their colleagues for exceptional work over the last year.
