About SPE (Swiftool Precision Engineering) Ltd

SPE manufacture high integrity precision machined parts for nuclear, aerospace and petrochemical industries. Their parts contribute to the way we travel, to the defence of the British Isles and world energy markets.

The vision at SPE is 'to be recognised as the UK's foremost precision engineering provider of innovative engineering machining solutions across the 21st century supply chain. 'Quality without compromise is how we do business'.

In order to reach this target, SPE have set a number of core principles for their employees to follow, these include: Respect; Honest; Responsible; Open Minded; and Family.

These core principles determine the way that team members work and are sought after in new recruits.

Every new employee is invited to a "meet the MD session" where the vision, mission and values are presented and the opportunity to bring any fresh ideas to the table from previous workplaces are welcomed.

A buddy is assigned at the point of joining so anything they are not sure about can be asked to their buddy. All employees are also given a new starter passport where they are formally buddied and mentored for four weeks, each week the employee will assign themselves an ECS (Employee Confidence score) on certain parts of their role - as opposed to being formally assessed.

SPE are heavily invested in the local schools project to provide opportunities for young people in a deprived area to experience the workplace. They have recently put in excess of 40 students through Work Based Learning days (WBL days) to help create "meaningful experiences" for young people locally.
