An Annual Performance Review gives every employee the opportunity to give feedback to their manager (or their reviewer). Employees are encouraged to reflect back over the Performance Year and think about the things their manager does well, and the things they would like their manager to do differently. Consultation is important to Shepherds Bush Housing Group as they recognise that their staff will wish to give their views on matters which affect them, and will want to know that these views are given serious consideration before a decision is taken and/or a policy implemented. They believe that people work well if they are kept fully informed of the decisions and actions of the Group and the reasons behind them. This is even more the case with issues of concern to staff, such as jobs, working environment, career prospects, the activities of the unit in which they work, and the major objectives or activities of the company.

Shepherds Bush Housing Group will endeavour, wherever possible, to accommodate an employee’s request in relation to study or training. Each request will be dealt with individually, taking into account the nature of the employee's request and any likely effects of granting it, e.g. any effects on the employee’s work or on the employee’s colleagues. In addition to support for professionally recognised qualifications - many through their own social enterprise Academy 4 Housing - they run monthly in-house workshops on a huge range of topics also supported by e-learning modules that all employees can access.
