About Skipton Building Society

Skipton Building Society was established in the market town of the same name, back in the 1850's. Their core values back then were for people to help other people; for savers to help borrowers; for the building society to help the town; for us all to play our part in building a better society.

Fast forward to well over 150 years later and Skipton is one of the UK's largest building societies, where their local community spans the length and breadth of the country through nealry 90 branches. Over one million people trust them to help them save for their future and own their own home.

Today, Skipton are fiercely proud of their heritage and commitment to mutuality. They place customers and their people at the heart of everything they do. The relentless focus on excellent customer service, together with industry leading colleague engagement, sets Skipton apart from others.

Skipton truly understand the importance of having an engaged workforce. They ensure that people are involved and able to contribute to business decisions. Skipton spend a great deal of time in training and developing their people and ensuring the workplace is a great place for them to have a career and realise their potential. Building a better and more sustainable society remains an uncompromising core value and they provide their people the autonomy to play their part in delivering it.
