About Utilita

Utilita are Britain's leading supplier of smart pay as you go energy and were the first independent supplier to challenge the 'Big Six'.

Utilita was formed in 2003 by Bill Bullen, a former British Gas executive who wanted to give people a fairer, more transparent, energy deal. Originally there were four people around one table in Winchester.

Fast forward almost two decades, and they now have around 1,400 staff, across 11 locations and have grown to be a £800m business.

Every customer receives a smart meter at no extra cost and a highly competitive tariff. They serve many vulnerable, low income, households.

Utilita appreciate the challenges many of their 750,000 customers have, and do all they can to help them manage their energy spend. Utilita realised very early on that smart metering was the way forward in Britain.

Their people love going in to work, there are opportunities for those that want it and a welcome to stay for those that like what they do and are good at it and happy.

The pace is dynamic, they keep their offering current to staff and customers, there is a real passion throughout the business to do the right thing.
