About Walnut Unlimited

Walnut uses market research to uncover human insights that help global brands in retail, FMCG and tech sectors to better understand consumers through innovative thinking, neuroscience, data and behavioural science.

Although a young agency, they have years of experience and legacy to fall back on. The workplace is a mixture of skill and expertise, which is well respected in the market and is complemented by the exciting vibes associated with a newer business. This was recognised by the Market Research Society (MRS) as they named them 'Best Breakthrough Business' for 2018.

Since becoming Walnut, the organisation have overcome many teething problems and differences in culture that all new agencies are susceptible to. They still have lots of work to do, but a collaborative effort across the board has made them a profitable business in an industry that is current facing a 10-15% decline in overall profit. Beating the odds, together, as a 'One Walnut' is what they are all about there.

Walnut Unlimited proudly host the 'Walnut Value Awards' (WVA's) at their annual Christmas party. These peer-nominated awards are designed to reward those in the business who best embody each of their 5 values across each location; respect, courage, spark, evolution and collaboration (which is awarded to a team, rather than individuals).

Walnut invest in training in several ways, including MRS (Market Research Society) paid courses, external training courses (Discovery Insights, Line Management, Presentation Skills, Mental Health First aiders, Wellbeing at Work etc), coaching, conferences and webinars amongst other things. 
Walnut offer monthly (paid) yoga sessions across the agency with an external coach to help teams unwind and also to keep fit. They have also engaged with colouring and crafts sessions to help staff take their mind off the stress of business and apply their attention to something more creative.

In the months leading up to the value awards, team members are encouraged to nominate their peers and provide reasons as to why they think these people qualify for the award. Their 'Values committee', a team within the business charged with ensuring values are upheld and accurately reflect the needs of the business, culture that they strive to create, review the submissions and narrow down contenders.
