About Weaver Vale Housing Trust

Weaver Vale Housing Trust is a large-scale voluntary transfer housing association, formed in July 2002, operating in Cheshire. The Trust owns over 6,200 homes, with 7,500 tenants, a large portfolio of garages, shops and community play areas with a variety of green open spaces.

They are an independent organisation with a clear vision for their future which places their customers at the heart of all they do. The Trust has invested significantly in its assets, services and the communities in which it works to support their sustainability, as well as improve outcomes and life chances for their customers.

The Trust has a caring and family orientated attitude and culture. Staff really do care for one another and help out where they can, which shapes how people, act and feel in their daily work. There are so many opportunities to be involved and make a difference for staff and customers.

Each team has its own unique personality and you know what to expect from them, who to talk with about an issue and how they can help. There is friendly rivalry between the office and trades staff, at sporting events held throughout the year, being victorious the ultimate goal!

They recently made a commitment to the Growth, Aspiration and Potential mentoring programme which was developed in partnership with a number of North West housing associations to enable colleagues (Mentees) from within the member organisations to benefit from the experience and expertise of an external Mentor.
They encourage a work life balance, have flexible working and encourage all staff to take their full holiday entitlement. They continually encourage all staff to have their lunch away from their desks, with no lunchtime meetings taking place in the breakout areas, and this message is given and acted upon from the Chief Exec down.

My Team
Each week the PR & Comms team produces an electronic magazine called The Eye or smaller version called the Mini Eye. This magazine contains news from various teams and people, competitions, important updates and the odd funny story. They also lift stories from their social media platforms to inform employees and encourage them to generate content for social media and The Eye. The Eye has over an 85% open and read rate, and encourages more people to come forward with content, talk to individuals and teams about work and projects.
