My Manager

The managers in A4e recognise what people are asking from people and ensure this is realistic and achievable. They recognise and reward a job well done. Their Managers have all been extensively trained on how to manage workloads and caseloads. They are therefore able to realistically plan their team’s time and objectives as a result of this. Each member of staff knows what is expected of them and the Manager will discuss this with their team members at the monthly one to ones. During the one to one any issues will be discussed and addressed. Each Business leader is able to use their own discretion in how to reward a job well done. This might take the form of allowing a duvet morning, or organising pizza for the team or running their own in office employee of the month schemes.

A4e have teams who are league winners based on performance who get invited to 'Superstars' days held in London. All the team members were invited and met at a location for the mystery event. All the teams were asked to make a short DVD based on the theme of ‘Describe A4e, what they are and what they do’. Each team were given props and a professional film company worked with the teams who were each allocated tasks such as ‘script writer’, ‘editor’ ‘engineer’. The teams had a few hours to write film and edit their footage ready to be shown on the night. All the edited films were shown and winners were selected. There was an amazing atmosphere and the teams learnt new ways of working.

A4e Superstars is an internal recognition programme that is designed to drive excellence and improve performance globally, whilst enabling them to share ideas and best practice. They have planned to communicate their results through the Management Board firstly and each Management Board leader will then be tasked with disseminating the results throughout their teams.
