Academia have many incentives to reward employees for their efforts, such as prizes and internal competitions, as well as an uncapped commission scheme for sales staff. This allows them to drive their own earning potential. Similarly for non-sales staff, they offer either KPIs (which are paid quarterly) or an annual bonus in addition to the many incentives and base salaries.
The organisation recently introduced and trained their first employee mental health first aider. They run sessions on topics such as identifying and managing stress and one to understand what mental health is. The organisation also likes to offer onsite head massages several times throughout the year, as a surprise for teams / staff as a way to reduce stress levels.
Employees are encouraged to arrange days to support and raise money for various initiatives including the 'Macmillan Coffee and Cake Day', dressing like wildlife for WWF, regular cake days (pay per slice) and also internal raffles. In addition, they donate tech to various charities and/or schools where possible. Employees are encouraged to suggest charities that they would like to assist and how they would like to do so.
