About Allianz Global Assistance UK

What is it like to work for Allianz Global Assistance UK

The Executive Board demonstrate their commitment to their four company values, Caring, Connected, Excellent and Responsible in a variety of ways. They do regular walk-arounds and attend team meeting to stay connected with what is happening at all levels of the business. The Executive Board take part in an ‘Exec Tea Run’ twice a year, delivering tea, coffee and cakes to employees on every floor of our head office. They also lead by example when it comes to CSR, regularly taking part in volunteering days and our company wide events for Children in Need. During our bi-annual Communication Forums the members of the Executive Board present with a focus on the four values.
The company runs a CSR programme incorporating ‘Health and Wellbeing’ and they run a variety of initiatives that focus on the physical and mental wellbeing of employees. A free wellbeing workshop is offered to employees once a month through ‘Wellness Wednesday’ programme. The workshops aim to support employee wellbeing by encouraging employees to take time away from their desks, focus on something outside of their jobs and hopefully develop new skills and knowledge. In the past, workshops have included meditation, still-life painting and cake-decorating. Wellness Wednesday workshops also give employees an opportunity to integrate with their colleagues and meet those they wouldn’t necessarily cross paths with in their day-to-day roles. Physical wellbeing is promoted by hosting weekly yoga classes and monthly massage appointments in the offices. The cost of both are subsidised by the company. Subsidised gym memberships are also available to all employees.
Giving Something Back
Giving Something Back
Their Corporate Social Responsibility programme, internally branded as 'Allianz4Good' is central to their business culture and well supported at all levels. It encourages employees to get involved in the community and 'give something back' and facilitates opportunities for them to do so. The programme focuses on four key areas; Community, Charity, Environment and Health & Wellbeing. The internal communications team spend much of their time engaging staff with the programme and working with local charities and voluntary organisations and they are always looking to find new ways to make a positive impact on the wider community and this year introduced Employability Workshops, which they ran in two local schools for the first time this summer. They also support organisations such as Young Enterprise and The Challenge in their work with local young people. Additionally, they are involved with local community charities through painting projects, conservation days and internet workshops for the elderly. Money is raised for charities nominated by employees through monthly Dress Down Fridays, where employees are asked to contribute £1 which is matched by the company. The largest charity event is Children in Need; each year they hand over their call centre to their televised appeals and over 100 of their employees volunteer to take donations from the public.
