To promote alcohol awareness, Anderson Anderson & Brown (AAB) offers its 251 employees mocktail tasting sessions, and it distributes details of local taxi operators to discourage drink-driving.
The Aberdeen-based firm was founded in 1990 and has been led for the past two years by managing partner Graeme Allan. Rising to 35th place in its second year on our list, the business looks after its staff well, ranking 10th for Wellbeing with a 71% positive score.
The staff, of whom about a fifth are part-timers, don’t consider they spend too much time working (70%, fifth) or go home feeling exhausted (56%, fourth). Last summer, the outfit moved to a light and bright new office, with plenty of space for collaboration and whole-team meetings. This refreshing environment helps ensure that individuals’ health doesn’t suffer because of work (83%, sixth). A “happy people award” is made each month to encourage jollity, with the winners receiving a desk trophy, a pin badge and a gift voucher.
