About APEM Limited

What is it like to work for APEM Limited

My Manager
My Manager
Informal coaching and mentoring takes place on a regular basis to support managers in their role of managing their teams. Senior managers have recently undertaken psychometric tests (MBTI) to improve interaction and understanding between the senior management team. An open ‘non blame’ culture is encouraged with regular formal and informal appraisals. All directors have undertaken Health & Safety training and there has been a company-wide focus on driving safely and effectively. Within the Aviation team there is a training structure that ensures that all team members are fully trained. This programme also ensures that managers are trained to the highest standard and always up to date with the latest technical developments.
My Team
My Team
Teams are spread across different sites across the country and technology is used to enable regular meetings between face to face meetings. Regular internal communication through staff newsletters and update emails keep staff informed about what their colleagues are involved with. New employees provide information about themselves to colleagues across the business, identifying their personal as well as work related interests. Staff are encouraged to participate in social and team building events, such as the Cardiff team attending a Welsh based rugby tournament – Judgement Day; organising and attendance at professional bodies’ events, and there is also a staff football team. There is a sports and social fund through which the company contributes 50% cost for any social events. There are a number of keen cyclists in the company, a group of whom recently participated in a 64 mile cycle race for charity. The company has a box at a football club, and several games a year are allocated as “staff games”.
Giving Something Back
Giving Something Back
APEM has a charity fund of up to £10,000 to match employee charity donations and staff are actively encouraged to engage in fund raising events by contributing 50% of entry fees to events such as the cycling sportive event, which subsequently then attracts sponsorship.  The company then match any sponsorship obtained, thus doubling the amount of money raised for the charity concerned. They have also embarked on a work placement scheme with disabled adults from our chosen charity – The Seashell Trust.
