About ARAG

ARAG provide before-the-event and after-the-event legal insurance products and services, as well as a portfolio of emergency assistance policies. They work in partnership with brokers, insurers and solicitors. Legal expenses insurance enables families, businesses, landlords and motorists to protect themselves from the cost of some common legal problems.

The primary Purpose at ARAG is 'To enable everyone, not just those who can afford it to assert their rights'.

With this in mind, a number of core principles are in place that all employees adhere to each day. These core principles are: Openness, Pioneering spirit, Farsightedness, Discipline, Drive and Fairness.

To reward employees for their continued efforts, Everyone who passes a formal qualification at ARAG is rewarded with a note of congratulations and instructions to put their feet up and take a break. Additional recognition is given at the MD's quarterly presentation. Names and exam successes are shared with all. Recently, all employees received a bottle of champagne or chocolate to reward them on the hard work associated with their test case victory.

ARAG have 10 wellbeing champions who have received accreditation as 'Mental Health First Aid Champions'. Their wellbeing champions are there to recognise signs of common mental ill health and provide support and/ or signposting. Employees who are struggling with their mental health can call upon champions for 1-2-1 support.

What is it like to work for ARAG

Leadership
Leadership
The Managing Director regularly talks to employees, visits the staff room daily and ensures their door is always open to those who might want to visit them. More widely, the Managing Director sits on or chairs the vast majority of committees thus ensuring that they have the opportunity to work with most employees at some point during the course of a year.
Wellbeing
Wellbeing
Wellbeing champions meet once a month to discuss all things health and wellness related. They plan and carry out wellbeing initiatives, based on the Five Ways to Wellbeing, such as a no tech tent on national simplicity day, craft club, running club, mindfulness sessions, pension advice for financial wellbeing and how to be your best self workshops to name just a few.
My Team
My Team
Each quarter, the Managing Director gives a presentation to all employees covering topics from new developments, to business results and a warm welcome to new colleagues. In doing so, colleagues learn more about the wider business than they otherwise would.
