About Away Resorts

Away Resorts was born when CEO Carl, along with Neill and Greg (finance and operations directors) teamed up with a shared dream to create the holiday park of the future, along with a strong desire to shake up the industry.

Fast forward nine years, throw in an awful lot of hard work, laughs, passion and a bunch of amazing staff and you have a growing family of parks. Each park has its own unique personality, buzzing with guests all year round and a business at the cutting edge of the sector. Away Resorts has won industry awards and accolades, been rated in the top 100 fastest growing businesses in the UK and attracted a new wave of holiday park devotees.

The thing that makes Away Resorts different is that they place equal value on their product and their people. The combination of innovative, amazing accommodation and a passionate guest focused team delivering delight, is powerful. They have seen incredible growth in recent years and they have even more ambitious future plans.

What is it like to work for Away Resorts

Their leader engages with teams using vlog and blog on Workplace for Facebook. In addition, their leader is very visible on parks (weekly) and at central support, known the majority of team members personally and engaging with them one to one and in groups on every visit. 

The senior management team model their values on a day to day basis and regularly engage with teams to reinforce the 'Attentive amazing lover' values that run through everything they do. They have introduced Our Voice, a continuation of their Park Roadshows which included a Q&A to the Executive Team.

When new team members join, as part of their settling in process they all take part in a Welcome Fest which is designed to give them the background of the company, they talk about their purpose, their values and their behaviours so that they can live by these, as part of the Away Resorts family, and provide the best customer service possible to their guests. They also learn about the history the business, who is who and what they expect from each other. The sessions are very interactive, based around festival theme and are delivered by their Park Marvels who are in house trainers who have a day job which may range from accommodation cleaning through to F&B assistants and People Development champions.

A monthly recognition programme of awards celebrates a holiday hero of the month at each location, and there is an overall monthly winner. The award recognises not only the big things but importantly, the little things that make all the difference and align to their values. Each monthly overall winner is then considered for the sought-after Holiday Hero of the Year award. They also have their Awesome Awards, these are rewarded to individuals who have gone above and beyond, and live and breath their Values or have shown an exceptional level of service to their customers.
