Barnett Waddingham are the UK’s largest independent provider of actuarial, administration and consultancy services.

The firm comprises of 68 partners and more than 900 employees, including 128 actuaries and more than 35 DC specialists, spread across eight offices throughout the UK. Founded in 1989, the business has grown predominantly through referrals from clients and professional contacts.

Nick Salter, Senior Partner at Barnett Waddingham encourages all employees and partners to ‘do the right thing’. They take great pride in each client being the responsibility of a partner who builds a team dedicated to meeting that client’s particular needs.

Employees are encouraged to be eco friendly through their sustainability initiative, including running a Sustainability Week in November 2017, which involved schemes for recycling, raising environmental awareness and fundraising efforts.

Last year alone, Barnett Waddingham raised £80,648.84 for various charities through fundraising days such as ‘dress down Friday’ and bake sales.

Nick actively encourages new initiatives by launching the firm wide communication. These messages are reinforced at his annual roadshow where he visits each office and conducts a presentation, giving employees an opportunity to speak to him on a one-to-one basis.
Barnett Waddingham provide free advice on exercise, healthy eating, managing workplace stress, nutrition, relaxation and resilience management. They also provide financial support for gym membership and the purchase of bicycles.

Each of Barnett Waddingham’s eight UK-based offices have a £4,000 fund to encourage employees to work within the community, including charities, local community groups and working with local suppliers. Branches donate to specific charitable needs and encourage employees to utilise their volunteering days with these charities.
