About Beaverbrooks

Beaverbrooks the Jewellers is an award winning family-owned jewellers with stores across the UK, providing exceptional quality diamonds, jewellery and watches. The retailer recently celebrated its centenary year and is still owned by the founding family.

Beaverbrooks is an open and honest company, so it's important to them to communicate key business decisions and the rationale to all its employees. The retailer believes that happy, driven and accountable colleagues go hand-in-hand with strong financial performance and believe transparency is key.

The business understands the importance of having both proactive and reactive tools in place to help ease any type of stress. All colleagues have regular 1-2-1s; this is private, quality time with a member of the management team to discuss anything personal or work related. These discussions also help the individual identify coping methods or ways to alleviate stress.

Beaverbrooks operates a culture of achievement, setting colleagues up to succeed and celebrating success together. The business believes that a balance of recognition and financial reward is important in motivating teams and has a variety of rewards in place. Beaverbrooks pays bonuses based on the business growing; Sales Consultants and management teams in stores are rewarded when they hit sales targets and office teams are rewarded when the business grows in profit.

The Primary Purpose at Beaverbrooks is to enrich lives, this purpose is set out in a document called 'The Beaverbrooks Way', which defines how things are done at the business. This is a company ethos by which all decisions are made and everyone within the business works within.

Beaverbrooks pride themselves on promoting managers internally. To support this, they have developed two internal programmes: one for store colleagues and a newly introduced programme for office colleagues. There is a structured application process to follow before securing a place on the programme and ultimately the trainees senior manager must endorse their application.
