November 2010 saw Billington Cartmell host its 20th Birthday Party celebrations at Paramount, situated on the top floor of London's Centre Point Building. The venue has 360 degree vistas of London reinforcing the company's view to the future and vision. Dinner and welcome drinks were followed by a motivating speech by guest speaker, Craig Sams founder of Green and Blacks (to expand on their core principles and OA), live music from the James Taylor Quartet and comedy from Reginald D Hunter.
Previous surveys have revealed the need for Billington Cartmell to benchmark their benefits against competitor companies in their industry to ensure they offer a highly attractive package. They have delivered a series of improvements to their Benefits Package to create a flexible benefits scheme that is still running and more attractive than competitor organisations. The organisation conducts a Top 5 employee suggestions survey, where all staff are asked to submit their 5 'vital few' thoughts that will progress the business towards meeting its Outrageous Ambition. This is run through an anonymous online survey. The results of the survey are played back through learning lectures and incorporated into the Annual Plans. Also Billington Cartmell have a number of initiatives to seek employee ideas; Where's my hoverboard - a weekly blog on innovation relevant to their team Digital club - an opportunity to meet and discuss latest digital trends. !nvent - Regular conversations about new cutting edge technology.
