About Bristol Airport Ltd

Bristol Airport are a regional airport serving the South West and Wales that provides infrastructure services to airlines and a transportation hub to inbound and outbound passengers.

The airport was established in 1930, when a group of pioneering businessmen and enthusiasts established Bristol’s first airport at Whitchurch. Since these humble beginnings, Bristol Airport has become the ninth busiest airport in the United Kingdom, handling over 7.6 million passengers per year.

Despite aviation changing beyond recognition, the company retains the passion of those early pioneers and share their goal of connecting their region to the world. In 2017, the airport celebrated 60 years of flying from their current site in North Somerset.

Nearly 3,000 people work at Bristol Airport for around 50 different organisations, from commercial airlines to government agencies, such as the Border Force. The airport itself employs just over 200 people, headed up by a leadership team representing the major department within the organisation.
