About Bromley by Bow Centre

The Bromley by Bow Centre aims to transform the lives of people living in one of the UK’s most deprived areas, working in partnership with them and other organisations to improve emotional and mental health and relieve poverty. Regular community events are held to engage new and existing users of the centre, as well as bringing staff together.

A key event in the working calendar is the Bromley by Bow Oscars, which recognises employee achievements and brings to light those who have brought significant positive change to the organisation. It also recognises those who are on the rise within the company and who will play bigger roles in the future.

An extra mile award is also presented to those who have contributed in an exceptional manner, nominated by their fellow employees. The organisation’s roots date back to 1984 and the charity has undergone significant development in the past ten years.

What is it like to work for Bromley by Bow Centre

Informality is a key principle of the charity and is embodied by the leadership team, who demonstrate a ‘roll up the sleeves’ approach to management. The chief executive has a dual role of also being a team leader, demonstrating his attitude of having time for everybody within the organisation.

The Bromley by Bow Centre holds an annual community summer fair where everybody in the local area can socialise and explore their services. There are also ongoing horticultural projects throughout the year to engage local people, including food and flower growing and wildlife gardening.
