About Bytes Software Services Limited

What is it like to work for Bytes Software Services Limited

Wellbeing
Wellbeing
On Fridays at Head Office Bytes have a Free Bar Friday, giving people the chance to finish work at 5pm and gather in the courtyard for a free glass of wine, beer or soft drink and chat to their colleagues and meet with new team members. During lunch break or at the start or end of each day, employees are free to use the Recreation area to "let off steam", indulge in competitions or perhaps just kill some time whilst waiting for the traffic to calm down. The Recreation area includes a "Foosball" Table, Table Tennis and Dart Board. They even have a regular onsite Masseur who provides stress relieving back, neck and should massages each week. People can take 20 minutes away from their desk to enjoy this at a subsidised cost. They have recently started trialling workplace Yoga to help people to stretch muscles that get weak from working at a desk, as well as incorporating breathing exercises to help reduce stress and invigorate the body and poses that will help to strengthen the core. This has all been extremely popular.
My Company
My Company
Bytes Software Services are one of the UK’s leading Microsoft Licensing Solution Providers, working closely with a variety of organisations across multiple sectors, many of them high street names. The company has a solid foundation of knowledge and skill at its heart, with many employees having over 10 years’ experience in the market that is key in providing a best of breed solution to their customers. Bytes have their company Mission, Values and Vision on their intranet for all to see. This is defined and clearly reiterated by their MD at Company Meetings, as each quarter he gives an update on how the business is performing against the Vision. When new employees join the business they have a meeting with the MD and the FD, who will also cover the key points of the Mission and Vision. HR will further cover the principle values in greater detail during their induction meeting.

Line Managers are free to reward their team as they wish and this might include the giving of vouchers, time off in lieu or other similar rewards. This is sanctioned by the directors via Bytes’ Gift Register. As a business Bytes have an annual awards ceremony where people can vote for their colleagues around the business. They have normally had two incentive trips per year created by the business and places may be won by sales people by meeting criteria laid out, but in addition they offer several "wild card" places where managers or directors can nominate non sales employees who have done an amazing job, to attend the trip. These are normally overseas trips and are all expenses paid. Once a quarter the Directors host an "EXCO Dinner" at a private dining room in a city venue. Employees who are celebrating long service awards, special birthdays or who have given exceptional service through the period will be invited to attend.
