About CAE Technology Services Ltd

Established in 1992, CAE Technology Services is an IT infrastructure solutions provider with a service-led approach that combines technology, people and process.

Starting from a small team, CAE now has over 300 employees working across six locations in England, as well as in Scotland and Wales. The organisation prides itself on excellent customer-focused service, and continue to win prestigious industry awards, year after year.

Throughout their journey at CAE, employees are encouraged to invest time in training and development and are fully supported by the company. Employees also get the chance to participate in activities outside of the workplace, such as volunteering days to give something back to their local communities.

CAE promotes diversity and inclusion within the workforce, with an internal Diversity and Inclusion group and workshops.

To ensure that employees were settling into new ways of working and to offer support and guidance, CAE’s line managers held regular check-ins with their staff members. Teams were encouraged to interact and communicate through virtual coffee mornings, quizzes and evening socials, as well as meetings to participate in non-work activities such as drawing and poetry competitions. To enable effective communications between the company and staff, CAE created an internal hub and newsletter, used to round-up all of the great things happening in the business and to keep employees up to date on developments from all departments and regions.

Wellbeing

The company is a huge advocate of mental health, and proactively supports employees through mental health awareness courses and an EAP programme. Over the course of the pandemic, CAE arranged and offered wellbeing sessions during a ‘Wellbeing Focus Week’ of programmes. This saw sessions delivered remotely via Zoom and included a focus on yoga, meditation and mindfulness, physiotherapy, nutrition, and breathing techniques. To further support both mental and physical wellbeing CAE introduced weekly ‘Wellness Wednesdays’, where employees could meet to share tips and advice. The positive feedback to the sessions has helped shaped the company’s future wellbeing agenda.

In recognition of the different ways in which the pandemic effected its employees, CAE reached out to each member of staff individually to discuss the impact on personal circumstances and understand how they could help. As a result, the company accepted several applications to take time away from work to focus on other priorities, as well as referring a number of people to external partners for specific support. By reaching out to employees, and listening, ensured no one felt alone or isolated.
