About Cairn Housing Association

Cairn Housing Association are a housing association with almost 3,500 homes across 24 local authorities, making them one of Scotland’s most geographically diverse social landlords.

They were formed as an independent Scottish organisation in 1990. Prior to this, it had been the Scottish arm of the Royal British Legion Housing Association responsible for the housing and care of former armed forces personnel in sheltered housing. In 1991, they changed their name to Cairn Housing Association and expanded their offering to include affordable housing.

In addition to providing affordable rented housing, the organisation also provided a factoring service to more than 600 homeowners.

The organisation has offices in Edinburgh, Bellshill and Inverness.

Their Chief Executive Jason MacGilp has been with Cairn Housing Association since December 2011 and has 30 years’ experience in the housing sector. He is committed to the association’s core purpose of providing high quality homes and services to customers.
