Car Benefit Solutions (CBS) was established in 2002 with a team of just five people, setting out to provide tax efficient car schemes for corporate clients. It began operations in a small unit in Bury, yet within a few years the company was partner of choice to some of the UK's biggest blue-chip clients.
In 2007, a premium car manufacturer brand approached CBS looking for an employee car fleet solution. Their brief was simple: “We want to make our cars affordable for our dealer network, so that employees working in franchised dealerships can become product experts and brand ambassadors.” The first manufacturer-sponsored Employee Car Ownership Scheme designed and managed by CBS was born.
Through a CBS scheme, employees can enjoy a cost-effective new vehicle, facilitated by their employer. Employers gain a powerful recruitment and retention tool, whilst franchised dealerships enjoy incremental sales and a quality used car pipeline.
CBS strives to create company culture based upon its core values of pride, continuous improvement, accountability, integrity, and enjoyment; priding itself on a family feel and passion for creating a positive environment in which to work.
“We are thrilled to have achieved the highest accolade of 3 star accreditation at CBS. This year has been particularly challenging for businesses and ours is no exception, but we are immensely proud of the commitment, communication and collaboration of our team and the resilience they have shown to continue to maintain our culture and engagement. Our team have demonstrated that they live our values, day in day out, to support each other, provide a customer centric service to all of our customers and they thoroughly deserve this accreditation. We are proud of the entire CBS Team and of this amazing achievement.” - Nicky Dickinson Head of People, Culture & Values

Car Benefit Solutions has continued with their annual wellbeing plan covering financial, physical and emotional wellbeing. They conducted HR clinics and wellbeing sessions virtually with individuals and conducted a wellbeing survey. Following the survey, anyone identified as struggling with their wellbeing had welfare calls to support them. Car Benefit Solutions also offered mindfulness sessions. They arranged flu jabs for all employees wishing to have one, and, for those who have arranged their own, for the cost of this to be reimbursed. They delivered lots of training sessions including stress management, awareness and resilience and had a Mental Health First Aider on hand for any support needed.
