Established in 1993, Chess employ more than 550 people in six sites across the UK and have helped over 30,000 businesses reduce their communication costs. Their relationship with all major UK networks and partners allows them to offer an extensive portfolio of communication packages at the best possible price.

Relationships with all major UK networks and technical capabilities across Voice, Connect, Cloud and Digital allow the company to design, deploy and support customers to grow efficiently, work from anywhere, safeguard their businesses, and better connect with their customers.

Part of the company’s success is giving something back to the local community and charities alike. Staff have taken part in cycling across Costa Rica, skydiving, racing in rally cars to Budapest and much more.

What is it like to work for Chess

Most senior management don’t have their own office - instead choosing to sit with the people. The Managing Director moves round the offices sitting in different areas and getting to know people, giving employees a chance to ask questions or discuss any ideas they have.

The Chief Executive Officer will meet with managers on a monthly basis to discuss what they are working on and all senior managers will be subject to an annual 360 survey, carried out by around 20 colleagues at all levels.

Cultural architects are people who are passionate about making Chess a great place to work and are elected annually by everyone in the business. They provide critical feedback, producing a weekly morale score for the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director.
