Operating leisure centres to golf courses, Edinburgh Leisure invest time, resources and expertise in developing services and programmes for the needs of local communities. They provide targeted intervention programmes to improve health and wellbeing, using sport and physical activity as a tool for addressing some of today's health challenges.
Edinburgh Leisure was established in 1998 and over time have evolved from, a not for profit trust that manages sporting facilities, to a charity, with the purpose of getting the people of Edinburgh active to improve their health and wellbeing.
Edinburgh Leisure firmly believe that their people are what makes them a great place to work. Their people deliver an experience that is welcoming to everyone and caring for their safety and wellbeing. They demonstrate passion for the service provided and take pride in what the organisation are all about.
The organisation foster a culture which encourages health and wellbeing among employees. For them it's simple: healthy staff means happy staff; happy staff means happy customers. This is echoed in their 'Gold Healthy Working Lives' Award, free staff access to all of their gyms and swimming pools, and their wellbeing programme.
