Essex County Council promotes the concept of Total Reward but without the use of annual statements. They have a Total Reward Calculator, an online tool that employees can access at any time to determine the total worth of their reward. In addition, the use of praise and recognition, saying thank you, reward vouchers and additional annual leave etc. are available to recognise contribution. The You Make the Difference in Essex awards scheme seeks out the recognition of peers and communicates success. Long service is celebrated, and they also offer flexible working opportunities that are valued by employees. They continually review and seek opportunities to extend the total reward available to their employees.
