About Fair Ways

Fair Ways started as a small independent fostering agency over 15 years ago as a spin off from a care business who did not want to provide the service. From the outset, the company had a clear vision to provide services to deprived children and young people. Their initial services were developed from scratch with little more than passion and a can do attitude.

Today, Fair Ways employs over 300 people and delivers services to over 150 children and young people annually.

Fair Ways is a unique organisation committed to making a difference and contributing to positive social change. They believe in a culture that values each individual whether that be a staff member or service user alike.

High quality services and care is achieved by continual staff training, development and empowerment coupled with consistently providing a high standard of living and working environments for everyone using and working within the organisation.

They firmly believe that by retaining well paid, well trained and well supported staff, Fair Ways will become one of the leading providers of childcare services in the UK.

Fair Ways believe that a combination of on the job training and 'class-based' lessons / Managers Masterclasses are optimal to learning how to be a manager at Fair Ways. Once the programme has been completed, new managers are supported through mentoring, supervision, further masterclasses and managers away days.

Employee development is a core value of Fair Ways. Whilst they do offer a huge amount of internal and accredited training via their Training and Development Centre, this is only a small part of the employee development schemes that they offer. An innovative example of supporting employee development is the Career Passport, which supports employees to take a lead in their own career development by evidencing examples of good working practice, positive feedback received and detailing what training they need to complete in order to progress.

This appears on the majority of company marketing collateral. Teams utilise large boards in each unit for shift organisation and monthly planning.
