About Financial Services Compensation Scheme

Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) are the single, independent UK compensation scheme for all regulated financial services. The organisation’s mission is to provide a trusted compensation service for customers, which raises public confidence in the Financial Services Industry.

The organisation has an agenda of consumer awareness and confidence, service excellence and increased resilience. To deliver this from a people perspective, the FSCS have a clear strategy for attracting, developing and engaging talented and capable people.

In a bid to support employees, the scheme offers professional training in order to deepen and extend their expertise.

The FSCS are headed by Chief Executive Mark Neale, who is dedicated to building rapport and a positive working relationship at all levels of the organisation. Mark sits in the open plan office space with all the staff, and posts weekly blogs to engage with members of the team.

What is it like to work for Financial Services Compensation Scheme

The business sets aside time to engage with Stress Awareness Day in order to encourage staff to look after themselves and their lives, while breaking down individual stressors. To raise awareness, staff were offered free massages, and were given top tips on combating the effects of stress.

Members of the team are invited to bi-monthly People Briefings, which bring colleagues together to share success stories. In addition, the creation of a Drop-in Zone allows colleagues to meet, share ideas and be involved in key projects in different areas.

FCFS run a vibrant Corporate Social Responsibility programme helping many organisations and charities. The organisation runs a regular reading group for children in St Paul’s School in Tower Hamlets, where staff regularly give up their free time to help the children with reading once a week.
