Flat Iron want to be a place that people love. Whether that is their team members, guests, suppliers, charities, investors, or landlords.
To ensure that the unique 'family feel' continues within their restaurants, all managers are personally interviewed by the founder of the organisation and all team members are interviewed by a general manager. Every potential new recruit does a trial in the restaurants before they are hired, so they can get a feel for the job. Flat Iron have criteria that they look for in every candidate and when selecting employees following a trial, the team are asked for an opinion to ascertain if they are in line with the culture and core principles.

By thorough training of all teams at every level, Flat Iron can portray their primary purpose, core principles and ambition. Everything that they do refers back to the principles when they train.
