About Frettens LLP

Founded in 1978, Frettens is a mid-sized law firm specialising in divorce, conveyancing, wills, tax, business, commercial property, employment and dispute resolution.

Frettens was started with the main ambition of delivering a great legal service at affordable prices — and their team, based in the heart of Christchurch, still work to that original ideal.

In the late 1970s, the firm’s founder and Managing Partner Ian Fretten was its sole practitioner, but they now employee approximately 60 members of staff — 25% of whom have been there for more than 10 years.

As well as providing staff with relevant training, and the opportunity to progress, the business offers a generous benefits package which includes private healthcare, life insurance, pension contribution, and flexi-time.

My Team
My Team
On the first Friday of every month, Frettens’ partners put money behind the bar for staff to have a drink after work. Recently, however, members of staff took part in an escape room adventure followed by an evening of pizza as a way of team-building.

New employees are given a bespoke induction, and a buddy is appointed to support them once they arrive at the firm. Staff regularly have a say in how their teams operate and hold regular meetings to feed back suggestions on better ways to do things.
